BCBSNM Headquarters Home to New Government Programs Unit
New unit brings 30 new jobs to NM to help customers navigate the health system
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) is pleased to announce that a new Government Programs Unit will be established in New Mexico to support Government Programs, including Medicare and Medicaid business for the HCSC Enterprise. The new division will be located at the BCBSNM headquarters in Albuquerque. The new unit will focus on care coordination and early intervention, case and condition management, medical review, and utilization management in collaboration with the HCSC Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois.
“Supporting the health and well-being of Medicaid members is one of our most important initiatives,” said Kurt Shipley, President of BCBSNM. “This new unit is designed to focus on our expanding Medicaid business, now standing at approximately 28,000 members in New Mexico, as well as new Medicare Advantage products which we plan to introduce during the upcoming Annual Election Period (AEP) for Medicare.”
The new Government Programs Unit will be staffed with approximately 30 new positions to be hired in New Mexico. These positions will include health coordinators, customer advocates, case managers, and Medical Director resources.
