Premium Assistance for Kids (PAK)
The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) designed Premium Assistance for Kids (PAK) to assist eligible individuals with paying for comprehensive commercial health insurance. Currently the State pays a portion of the monthly premium for children who qualify.*
*Note: Due to the state's budgetary constraints, the below changes have taken place for the PAK program:
- Effective 09/01/2010, the state no longer accepts new PAK applications
- Effective 05/01/2011, the state's portion of the monthly PAK premium amount changed to a fixed amount per month for all existing PAK enrollees
Premium Assistance for Kids services are funded in part under a contract with the State of New Mexico.
