Avoid Directory Suppression: Update your Directory Information such as Accepting New Patients

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico will outreach to providers who have not validated or updated their ‘Accepting New Patient’ status recently. Per the New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance guidelines, as of Jan. 1, 2024, any provider who has not validated their Provider Directory information within the previous 90 days may be suppressed from the Directory.

To avoid Directory suppression, all contracted providers must validate their directory data with BCBSNM at least every 90 days so that members and potential members have the information they need to select a provider. This data can be updated via the online web demographic form or by responding to the email data attestation forms sent to provider offices who have a valid contact email on file. Contact emails can also be updated via the online web demographic form. This form can be found on the Update Your Information page under the Network Participation tab on BCBSNM’s provider website.
