Clovis, N.M. — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) and Familia Dental are co-hosting a no-cost community baby shower for new and expecting moms 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Java Loft Coffee Shop in Clovis.
“When expecting mothers receive support from the community, it can have a significant impact on the whole family’s health,” said Janice Torrez, president of BCBSNM. “This is especially true for new mothers who may need the extra help in the beginning of their journey with their first baby.”
New Mexico Lions Operation KidSight will offer no-cost vision screenings inside the BCBSNM Care Van. Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico, Chicanos Por La Causa, Pregnancy Resource Center and many other community partners and providers will be present with relevant resources and information.
Registered attendees will be entered to win door prizes, including a car seat, diaper bags, diapers, bottles and care packets for babies and moms. BCBSNM will provide snacks and bottled water.
