Manager of the Blue Door Neighborhood Center
Anita was born and raised in Albuquerque’s South Valley and is a graduate of Rio Grande High School. She has more than 30 years' experience in public relations and customer service with the City of Albuquerque, including 21 years with the Department of Senior Affairs. She was most recently the manager of the North Valley Senior Center.
During her time with the City of Albuquerque, she led health education programs at various centers and was instrumental in forging partnerships within the local community. Anita serves on the Board of Directors of Mark Armijo Academy. She is also a former board member of the Gutierrez-Hubble House Cultural Center in Pajarito.
Community Affairs Concierge of the Blue Door Neighborhood Center
Aldo Garcia moved to Belen, New Mexico from Los Angeles, California in 2013 and joined BCBSNM as a bilingual customer advocate in 2014. Eight years later, in 2022, Aldo joined the Quality, Training and Knowledge Management team as a quality coach. Now, in 2024, he joins the Blue Door Neighborhood Center as a community affairs concierge.
Aldo brings almost a decade of customer service experience with BCBSNM in Membership, Claims, Benefits, Retail & Group Pharmacy.
Community Affairs Concierge of the Blue Door Neighborhood Center
Angie Marentes was born in Albuquerque and raised in Mexico. She moved back to Albuquerque in 1991, where she graduated from Los Lunas High School.
Angie previously worked for the City of Albuquerque’s Department of Senior Affairs as a program assistant and recreation and fitness instructor. She has 14 years of customer service and public relations experience providing information on city services and resources about physical health, fitness and mental health.
Having previously lived in the South Valley, Angie appreciates the area and its culture. She is bilingual and is excited to assist the community with courtesy, respect and efficiency.
Community Outreach Specialist of the Blue Door Neighborhood Center
Christine Rocha was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For the past 15 years, she has served Albuquerque and Southern New Mexico communities as a bilingual BCBSNM community outreach specialist.
Her professional experience involves working in management roles for various nonprofits: the American Diabetes Association, Dream Spring and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.
Christine is a proud member of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. She has volunteered for over 14 years as a mentor in their prison ministries program. She is passionate about uplifting the Hispanic community and looks forward to continuing this work as a community outreach specialist for Blue Door Neighborhood Center.
Christine received her undergraduate degree in communications from St. Mary of the Plains College.
Health Educator of the Blue Door Neighborhood Center
Julia Martinez is a granddaughter, daughter, niece, sister, auntie and community member from Northern New Mexico. She recently joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico in April 2024 as a bilingual Health Educator for the Blue Door Neighborhood Center.
She previously worked as a community-engaged qualitative health researcher at the University of New Mexico’s Health Science Center. Her experiences are anchored in trauma-informed care, mental health awareness, gender affirming healthcare, disability and reproductive justice.
Julia received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of New Mexico in Health Education. She is certified as a full-spectrum community doula and lactation specialist.
