Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico is excited to announce an opportunity for any contracted network providers who are interested in a consultative role as a member of our Quality Improvement Committee. BCBSNM aims to establish a QIC that is representative of the diverse populations covered by BCBSNM and believes that your expertise and insights would be invaluable in achieving these goals while improving member outcomes and member satisfaction.
As a voting member of the QIC, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of healthcare services provided to our members. Your role as a voting member will include:
- Oversight: Provide oversight and monitoring of the quality program strategy to ensure it meets all regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on addressing social determinants of health, health equity, and improving the delivery of healthcare services to vulnerable populations.
- Review and Analysis: Review and analyze healthcare quality data, reports, and performance metrics related to SDOH, health equity, and the delivery of healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Identify areas for improvement and potential gaps in meeting regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders, including medical directors, quality improvement staff, and others from across the Health Plan, to provide input and insights on addressing SDOH, health equity, and improving healthcare services for vulnerable populations.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of the quality program in addressing SDOH, health equity, and the needs of vulnerable populations. Provide feedback on its effectiveness in meeting regulatory requirements and achieving desired outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the quality program strategy related to SDOH, health equity, and the delivery of healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Recommend changes or enhancements to optimize its effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal committee members to ensure that the quality program strategy aligns with regulatory requirements and best practices related to SDOH, health equity, and vulnerable populations. Share expertise and insights to drive positive change.
- Consultation: Offer expert advice and guidance on addressing SDOH, health equity, and improving healthcare services for vulnerable populations. Provide recommendations on interventions and initiatives that can be implemented to address these areas.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to quality improvement in the healthcare industry, ensuring the committee's strategies remain relevant and effective.
- Ethical Conduct: Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information discussed during committee meetings and in relation to the organization's quality program.
As an external participant in the internal QIC, your primary responsibilities are to provide oversight, review and analyze reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Your focus will be on addressing SDOH, health equity, and improving healthcare services for vulnerable populations, including prenatal, postpartum, and members parenting children, seniors, and members with Long Term Services & Support needs, members with behavioral health conditions, Native Americans, and Justice-involved individuals. Your expertise and guidance will be crucial in promoting the inclusion of these populations in the quality program strategy, driving positive change, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
BCBSNM understands that your time and expertise should be appropriately compensated. Therefore, this consultative role offers a paid stipend. Additionally, as a voting member, you will be required to sign a scope of work/contract that outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and terms of engagement.
