Prenatal and Postpartum Care Coordination Changes for Medicaid Members

As part of Turquoise Care, community-based organizations and maternity providers begin managing prenatal and postpartum care coordination for our Medicaid members as of July 1, 2024.

This is a change for members who previously received care coordination through our Special Beginnings® maternity program. That program ends June 30, 2024. We now contract with delegated care coordination entities for our members and with early intervention agencies for infants from birth to 3 years old who are experiencing delays in development or health-related needs.

There are no changes to pregnancy-related benefits and services under Turquoise Care. Only care coordination has changed.

If a member is in their third trimester of pregnancy and has an established relationship with an obstetrical provider, they may continue to be treated by the provider even if they are out-of-network.

If you have questions, contact your Provider Network Representative.
