  • Request Lab Tests

You can use Virtual PCP to request lab tests. If you need to know what’s going on with your health, work with your doctor. Make sure you get the care you need.

    Types of lab tests include:

    • Screenings for annual check-ups or chronic conditions.
    • Blood tests.
    • Imaging such as X-rays or CT scans.

  • Request Medications

Need a refill? You can access prescription refills on Virtual PCP. Work with your doctor on a treatment plan for any health issues you’re facing. This can include prescriptions for new medications.

Check your BCBSNM Preferred Drug List to make sure prescriptions are covered. Some drugs may need approval (“prior authorization”) before they are prescribed. This is so BCBSNM will pay for them. Your doctor can send BCBSNM a request for this approval.

Please note: Doctors on Virtual PCP cannot prescribe controlled substances at this time2
