Virtual Primary Care Provider (PCP) by Galileo®

With Virtual PCP, you can receive medical care whenever you need it. If you have a health concern, want to schedule an annual wellness visit, or need a prescription refilled, you can get care quickly and conveniently.

Virtual PCP is available 24/7. With virtual care, you can save time and skip the trip to the doctor’s office. No matter where you live in New Mexico, you can easily access more doctors online.

Members 18 years and older have access to:

  • Online Visits with Your PCP and Care Team

With Virtual PCP, you can meet with your board-certified PCP or other medical experts by phone, online chat or video1. Your PCP will get to know you and your medical history and work with your care team to create a plan to meet your personal health care needs.

    Members can get help with:

    • Annual wellness exams
    • Treatment for minor issues such as cough, sore throat, allergies, colds or flu, sinus infections, minor cuts and burns, stomachache, UTIs and more.
    • Managing complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure and more.
    • Birth control and sexual health.
    • Behavioral health conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia and more.
    • Everyday issues such as acne, hair loss and more.
    • Prescriptions and refills.
    • Referrals to specialists.

Virtual PCP gives you unlimited, 24/7 online messaging with your virtual care team.

  • Request Lab Tests

You can use Virtual PCP to request lab tests. If you need to know what’s going on with your health, work with your doctor. Make sure you get the care you need.

    Types of lab tests include:

    • Screenings for annual check-ups or chronic conditions
    • Blood tests
    • Imaging such as X-rays or CT scans
  • Request Medications

Need a refill? You can access prescription refills on Virtual PCP. Work with your doctor on a treatment plan for any health issues you’re facing. This can include prescriptions for new medications.

Check your BCBSNM Preferred Drug List to make sure prescriptions are covered. Some drugs may need approval (“prior authorization”) before they are prescribed. This is so BCBSNM will pay for them. Your doctor can send BCBSNM a request for this approval.

Please note: Doctors on Virtual PCP cannot prescribe controlled substances at this time2
