Value-Added Services

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) covers more than just standard Medicaid benefits. We also offer extra services to help keep you and your family healthy. These are called Value-Added Services (VAS). 

Turquoise Care members have access to VAS such as:

  • Infant car seat, portable infant crib – for pregnant members who complete required prenatal visits.
  • Prenatal education – includes classes on childbirth, labor and prep, newborn care and more.
  • Home meal delivery – for member who transition from an inpatient or long-term facility to the community.
  • Wellness centers – provide resources for members with behavioral health needs.
  • After school youth activities – covers fees for after school or sports activities for members under 18 years old.
  • Respite care – for members with complex needs who struggle with basic things like shopping or going out to eat, the Friends and Family Circle VAS will pay a friend or family member to provide care.
  • Remote monitoring program – for members with chronic health conditions who need to have their blood pressure and oxygen levels checked in real time.
  • Learn to Live digital mental health programs – this online resource can help members who deal with anxiety, stress, depression, substance use, panic or sleep problems.
  • Virtual health partners – members can get 24/7 virtual access to health experts, tools and live events to help modify diet, fitness and lifestyle to get healthy.
  • Traditional healing benefits – Native American members can get services provided by a Traditional Healer.

Some services are not always offered all year long. Some may have limits or change from year to year.
