Blue Corps^SM Team

Community support occurs at many levels. From sponsoring projects related to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico's (BCBSNM) health initiatives to taking part in blood drives, food drives, and fundraisers, we strive to be active participants in our community. Every year, BCBSNM employees log more than 10,000 volunteer hours through our Blue Corps volunteer program, doing hands-on projects for local nonprofits and organizing drives for important community causes. Our local investments create measurable change in our communities and foster a culture of employee volunteerism and giving.

For 30 years, BCBSNM employees have generously donated time and money support education and to provide school supplies for New Mexico's students in need. BCBSNM understands it is critical for students to have the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. That is why our employees collect and donate tens of thousands of supplies to at-risk students each year.

BCBSNM has a strong record of commitment to United Way of Central New Mexico (UWCNM). Each year BCBSNM and its employees contribute to the many partner agencies served by UWCNM, providing support for people in need. UWCNM partners with organizations and programs to help improve the quality of life for New Mexicans. BCBSNM is committed to the future of the UWCNM, just as the UWCNM is committed to the people of this state.

BCBSNM employees organize an annual giving initiative to provide holiday presents for families in need. Families who have received gifts through the drive include single parents, grandparents raising grandkids, veterans and military families, young people who are in foster care or who have aged out of foster care, and others. BCBSNM employees schedule fundraising events – such as bake sales, auctions and enchilada lunches – to generate money to complete the families' wish lists.

BCBSNM is a sponsor of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk each year. Making Strides is one of the largest fundraiser walks in New Mexico. BCBSNM team captains sell T-shirts and employees raise money for this worthwhile cause, and BCBSNM has one of the largest corporate walk teams on the walk course.
