Living Our Purpose

Our nearly 2,000 employees here in New Mexico are committed to standing with our members and communities, through it all. And they bring this commitment to life in their work and with thousands of hours as volunteers.

In Our Communities

Showing up in our communities is a vital part of our culture of caring. In 2025, more than 330 employees volunteered more than 7,800 hours with more than 180 nonprofit organizations in New Mexico.

By logging their hours with our Blue CorpsSM program, they generated more than $12,000 in matching donations for organizations they served.

Through Blue Corps, our volunteer ambassadors and advocates organized and promoted 60 events in our buildings and in our communities to empower our teams to make an impact.

“Volunteering is one of the most practical and profoundly rewarding things I can choose to do with my time,” says Natalie Roy, our 2025 Volunteer of the Year. “I’m not donating hours — I’m investing in myself and my community.”

She logged more than 160 hours in 2025 serving Ronald McDonald House Charities, Paws and Stripes, Blue Star Mothers of America, Friends of New Mexico Fisher House and Roadrunner Food Bank.

Empowering Communities for 85 Years: BCBSNM's Commitment to a Healthy New Mexico

For over eight decades, BCBSNM has been dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of New Mexicans through programs and services that positively impact communities statewide.

Building a Culture of Caring

Because we’re committed to creating a dynamic and caring workplace, we encourage innovation, collaboration and personal growth and strive to ensure all employees feel heard and valued.

We bring this to life through our Employee Experience Councils and Business Resource Groups, which unite employees and leaders in shaping a workplace built to recognize, respect and celebrate unique experiences and perspectives.

In 2025 nearly 300 New Mexico employees participated in one or more of our Business Resource Groups, which provide all employees with the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests and foster a sense of community inside and outside of work.

Turning employee voices into action, we strengthen our culture of caring and make critical connections that help all of us better serve our members and offer products and services that meet their needs.
